Implement Energy Conservation Measures – Armarillo, TX

In an effort to reduce energy consumption and costs, the VA Medical Center in Amarillo, Texas solicited a project to make several updates to their facility. These changes included: updating air handler units, installing chilled water storage, adding window film to east and west facing windows, installing lighting occupancy sensors, replacing low efficiency motors, installing low flow plumbing fixtures, installing vend misers on vending machines, retrofitting steam sterilizers with water misers and ejector mods, and installing VFDs on chiller compressor motors. The chilled water storage created a huge energy savings in itself, using a system that creates ice which is stored in eighteen (18) thermal storage tanks.
